Oooo Betty........

Betty's papier mache vintage box, left, and the new tin
What Ho chappettes

After having eaten cake in the lovely Betty's tea room I ventured into the wonderful land know as the gift shop.

An afternoon delight.

My eye was immediately drawn toward the Betty chocolate box which  is based on a vintage chocolate box that the Staff at the world famous Betty's Tea Rooms unearthed.
This ornat model on top of this  90-year-old chocolate box was buried and forgotten deep in their  archives.

The racy image deemed suitable for the 20s has now been chosen to appear on the boxes of their new vintage collection.

This mystery model who name has been lost in the sands of time is absolutely beautiful and very seductive and she is leaving very little to the imagination. and it is for this reason she has had buttons added to her clothes, her hair smoothed down and her suggestively arched eyebrow has been lowered.

It may come as a surprised at how daring the original chocolate box is for its time as there is quite a lot of flesh on display but it has to be remembered this was the time of  flappers...... Jazz Bands and.......

All girl Jazz Band 1920's.

Evelyn Waugh's  Vile Bodies.

I decided to treat myself to the hat box in the Betty collection

It sits on the lower self of the table next to me in the lounge and holds my Waterman Fountain Pen, Blotting paper, Vintage Bakelite Fuller's letter opener and Vintage Postage stamp holder
